Frank Donga is all shades of sober in new movie, ‘Hakunde’

Unlike his comic role in The Wedding Party and on the Interview online series, Frank Donga portrays a more sombre character in the movie, Hakunde.

Shot in the northern Nigeria, Hakunde tells the story of a young man who leaves Lagos due to prolonged unemployment.

His battle with hopelessness, self pity and discrimination leads to his quest for a way out of poverty, a decision which propels him to engage in various odd jobs till he eventually finds his path.

The movie also features Rahama Sadau, Ali Nuhu, Toyin Abraham, who played Donga’s mischievous sister, and a host of others.

Hakunde looks to pass a message of hope and self motivation to young, unemployed persons and encourage them to pursue their dreams.

The movie was produced by Oluseyi Asurf, written by Tomi Adesina and will be released in cinemas from August 2017.
